A Sovereign Individual (SI) is a
person who has achieved complete ownership and control of his or
her own means of production without having any ownership or
control of others' means of production outside of that freely
agreed upon by contract.
The achievement of SI status
enables people to realize the promise of both capitalism and
communism, without the nastier aspects of each of these philosophies.

Despite how the term sounds, the
SI is not a hermit. Each SI interfaces with others through
reason and respect rather than through force, coercion and
intimidation. They do this not simply because it is moral, but
because it is in their best interest to do so.
