FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS 1. WHAT IS THE COMMONWEALTH OF JEFFERSONIA? The Commonwealth of Jeffersonia is a supranational non-territorial commonwealth of independent sovereign individuals structured and organized as a nation-state.  The Commonwealth of Jeffersonia is both a non-governmental organization (NGO) with non-profit status and a governmental supranational entity with the attributes of a traditional state, except for a localized territorial imperium. Our key roles include the provision of useful Internet-based products and services intended for sovereign individuals, and the issuance of passports and other necessary documents to refugees / stateless / undocumented individuals.

2. WHY WAS THE COMMONWEALTH OF JEFFERSONIA FORMED?

The Commonwealth of Jeffersonia was formed because its Founders believe these fundamental truths to be universal, that all people, regardless of national allegiance, are entitled to freedom of movement, pursuit of happiness and prosperity, the right to self-defense, and the right to seek safe sanctuary wherever such blessings may be found. Further, that whenever any form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it becomes the duty of a free and energetic people to organize themselves for the purpose of seeking an alternative environment which promises relief from such inhospitable circumstances.

3. WHERE IS THE COMMONWEALTH OF JEFFERSONIA?

As explained in #1, the Commonwealth of Jeffersonia is not a geographical entity - therefore there is no map of the Commonwealth of Jeffersonia and you cannot immigrate to the Commonwealth of Jeffersonia.

Services are provided to our Citizens from within the sovereign cyberspace domain of the Commonwealth of Jeffersonia, a secure cyberspace economic community.

Our main goal is to make a contribution to human society and individual human lives through:

- to achieve diplomatic accredition
- to open a central embassy with 5 years
- to become a respected diplomatic partner

5. WHO IS THE COMMONWEALTH OF JEFFERSONIA?
The Commonwealth's Founders comprise sovereign individuals of many nationalities all of whom share a belief in the basic human right to life, liberty and property. The Commonwealth's Citizens are from all nations, cultures, ideologies and walks of life.

6. WHAT IS THE COMMONWEALTH OF JEFFERSONIA'S HISTORY?

7. WHAT PHILOSOPHY DO YOU ADHERE TO?
We believe strongly in the political system of laissez-faire capitalism. We believe that laissez-faire capitalism is the only moral system that permits people to live and prosper in their everyday lives. Our philosophy is outlined in the following books:

Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand,
Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill,
The Sovereign Individual by James Dale Davidson and Lord William Rees-Mogg.

We like this quote from the Sovereign Individual which sums up well our view of the future:

"...Much of the world's commerce will migrate into the new realm of cyberspace, a region where governments will have no more dominion than they exercise over the bottom of the sea or the outer planets."

Jeffersonia is the modern equivalent of an invisible medieval castle in cyberspace, where wealth and freedom are protected and hidden from those who might loot them by invisible walls of zeros and ones. The verdict of history is that free-market capitalism is the globally optimal way to cooperate for economic efficiency. In a similar way the reputation-game gift culture is the globally optimal way to cooperate for generating and checking high-quality creative work (in an environment where property is infinitely reduplicatable, highly malleable, and the surrounding culture has neither coercive power relationships nor material scarcity economics).

8. WHAT CAN YOU DO FOR ME?

The Commonwealth of Jeffersonia first challenges you to "ask not what your country can do for you - ask what you can do for your country". This principle applies both to your local country as well as your contribution to the development of the Commonwealth of Jeffersonia.

Our nation provides a number of services as listed on the home page. One of the most symbolic of these is the issuance of our passport.

9. HOW DO I OBTAIN A PASSPORT?

Please note that our Second Citizenship Program is NOT open to citizens of all countries - this in order to protect the security of the Commonwealth of Jeffersonia as a whole. Please do not contact the Commonwealth of Jeffersonia to ask "why is such or such country not on the list of approved countries of primary citizenship for applicants". The reasons are at the discretion and responsibility of the Commonwealth of Jeffersonia government.

10. IS ALL THIS LEGAL?

Yes - we are very careful to do all things legally and transparently. We have and cooperate with all foreign governments and law enforcement agencies, except in cases when the human rights of our citizens is at stake.

Yes and No. The primary idea is that we will help you take a hard look at the legal and practical realities of immigration. We will help you evaluate your chances of building a better life in your home country. If you want to try the immigration option, we will refer you to an accredited legal counsel to help you accomplish your goal in full compliance with the immigration laws of your country of destination. Please bear in mind that:

• this is an expensive project (we do not provide free services in this area)
• this is a long term project (can take up to 10 years)
• we do not offer or endorse illegal programs
